Texas child custody case complicated by violation of court orders

Family law issues often entangle emotions and a complex legal landscape. This is why child custody cases are often some of the most difficult in the realm of family law. When there is a dispute rather than an agreement up front, it is often because real differences of opinion exist as to how a child should be raised. Ultimately, the prevailing position is to work toward the best interests of the child. Sometimes, however, parents often legitimately disagree with what is determined to be in a child's best interests.

Even if there is significant conflict about how a child should be raised, it benefits all involved to come to a legal resolution before more serious legal issues arise. In Texas, two non-custodial parents were named in warrants for interfering with child custody. They have purportedly taken their biological son from his legal custodian.

The full details of the case were included in reports, but police are actively seeking out the child and his parents. Violation of court-ordered child custody arrangements can result in serious legal consequences, including prison time.

Regardless of what exactly initiated the biological parents' alleged taking of the child from the legal holder of child custody, the situation is likely to be more difficult due to these allegations. Since warrants have been issued for their arrests, it will likely become more difficult for the boy's parents to obtain custody if they request a modification in the future. It would likely be better for all parties involved in such disputes to work together with a common understanding of the law and Texas family courts to work toward a positive resolution of the case.
