Texas man killed in motorcycle accident; Wrongful death claim?

One has to be careful when on the road, since there is no way to know what other drivers are about to do. However, despite all of the caution in the world, it still may not be enough to avoid a collision, which could cause injury or even death. This is especially true for motorcyclists, who are more vulnerable to injury on the road compared to drivers of other types of vehicles. This was the case in a recent motorcycle accident which occurred in October at an intersection in Texas.

The incident occurred when a 27-year-old motorcyclist was heading north on Farm Market 707 in Taylor County. At the same time a 55-year-old woman in a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on County Road 314. Allegedly, the Camry pulled out in front of the motorcycle, which was followed by a collision that propelled the motorcyclist from his vehicle.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. Unfortunately, at 6:42 a.m. the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Camry was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a head injury, which was considered non-life threatening. Reportedly, the street conditions may have been wet, while the weather was said to be foggy.

The family of the deceased victim will undoubtedly want to know exactly what happened in the motorcycle accident. They will also be burdened by funeral costs and other expenses related to the man's death in Texas. If the preliminary findings are confirmed by subsequent investigation, the family may elect to press forward with a wrongful death lawsuit in Texas courts. Although there is nothing which can reverse the tragedy, a successfully litigated civil claim may help the family from having their loss turn into a financial tragedy as well.
